Contact Lenses Thank you for choosing Medical Eye Services, Ltd for all your contact lens needs. Our doctors and technicians work hard to ensure you are fit with the proper lens prescription to meet your lifestyle needs.
Below you will find our policies for contact lenses and fittings. If the information provided does not answer all your questions please contact our office.
If this is your first visit to Medical Eye Services, Ltd, or if it has been over a year since your last eye exam, our doctor will require you to have a complete eye examination in addition to your contact lens fitting. The contact lens fitting is not part of the comprehensive eye exam and is done separately by our contact lens technician. Insurance may cover your eye exam and any additional testing, but will not cover the contact lens fitting.
At your contact lens fitting our doctor will determine what size and type of contact lenses are right for you. Since insurance companies deem contact lenses as a cosmetic form of vision correction, the fitting and the contact lenses are not covered. Payment for your contact lens fitting is due at the time of your first contact lens fitting visit, and if you choose to purchase your contact lenses at Medical Eye Services, Ltd they must be paid for in full before they will be ordered. Please note that the cost of contact lenses is not included in the contact lens fitting fee.
The fitting fees include up to three (3) contact lens follow-up visits within sixty (60) days of your original fitting date.
Current contact lens wearers, who for various reasons, need to be refit into a new lens after the initial 60-day period, will be charged half the original fitting fee.
In order to maintain healthy vision, Medical Eye Services, Ltd requires all contact lens wearers to have a complete eye examination as well as a contact lens evaluation once a year after your initial fitting. The contact lens evaluation consists of:
