What types of eyewear do you offer? We offer a wide selection of eyeglass frames with over 600 traditional and designer styles. And our children's eyewear selection is the largest in the northern suburbs of Chicago. In addition to eyeglasses we offer sunglasses, sports eyewear and safety glasses. If there is an item you are looking for that we do not have in stock, just let us know, and we'll order it for you if it's from one of our approved, quality vendors.

What is your warranty policy regarding eyeglass lenses and frames? Medical Eye Services, Ltd stands behind the quality of the eyeglasses provided by our Optical Shop. We are happy to provide the following warranty on eyeglass lenses and frames: When ordering your glasses we ask for 50% down and the remaining balance upon delivery.

Frame warranty: All frames purchased come with a one-year defect/breakage warranty. All breakages must be normal wear and tear. We will either repair or replace your frame with the same frame at no charge, or if a frame has been discontinued during the warranty period we will replace it with an equivalent value frame at no charge. We are unable to extend this warranty to frames purchased elsewhere.

Lenses warranty: We will verify your prescription. If you are having a problem with your new prescription, please come into optical within 45 days. If we are unable to find a solution we will schedule you to see the doctor again for a reevaluation. Any prescription changes will be done at no charge. All lenses purchased have a one-year defect warranty (i.e. lens coatings, anti-glare coating, etc.). We will replace the lenses at no charge. Scratches or breaking of the lenses is not included.

Progressive lenses: We understand that some patients require time to adapt to progressive lenses. If you are having difficulty with the lenses we ask that you speak to our optician. Adjustments may be necessary. If within 30 days you are not comfortable wearing your lenses, we will be happy to replace the lenses at no charge to either a lined bifocal or single vision lenses. If possible, we will keep the same or similar option on the lenses (i.e.anti-reflective coating, tint, photo chromatic, etc.). Since these are special order lenses, we are unable to offer any refunds.

Return policy: We are able to give you a 100% credit for your frame toward the purchase of another frame or lenses if returned within 30 days of receipt. Frames must be in perfect resale condition. We will give you a 50% credit for your lenses toward new lenses or a frame if returned within 30 days of receipt. We are unable to offer cash refunds.

Cancelled orders: Any order must be cancelled within three business days. All orders will be charged a lens fee as follows (unless we are able to stop the order before the lens is processed): Single vision-$20.00, lined bifocal-$30.00 and progressive bifocal-$50.00. Any specialty add on to the lenses (i.e. anti-reflective coating, transitions, photo chromatic, hi-index, etc.) will be charged at half price (unless we are able to stop the order before the lens is processed)

Reusing existing frames: When ordering lenses only for an existing frame, there will be a lens insertion fee of $20.00. Due to the age of an existing frame they may crack or break when new lenses are inserted, therefore we cannot be responsible for any damages to the frame as they are being reused at your request.

Do I need scratch protection coating? Scratch protection is extremely helpful, particularly on plastic lenses which tend to scratch more easily than glass lenses.

Why is ultraviolet (UV) coating important? Just like the ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun damages your skin it can also damage your eyes if you don't protect them. UVA light rays affect the internal lens of the eye and UVB light rays are absorbed by the cornea, the front part of the eye. And though the sun is the most powerful source of UV radiation, the most significant exposure comes from the reflection of the sun on ground surfaces (snow, sand, concrete, water). By treating your eyeglasses and sunglasses with a UV protective coating you can reduce the exposure to your eye by up to 99%.

What help do anti-reflective coatings provide? Anti-reflective coatings help reduce the reflection of light in your eyeglasses. In an office environment overhead lighting and computer monitors create lots of reflections on the internal surface of your eyeglasses. Even the small amount of light in your car at night can cause significant reflections in your glasses. These types of reflections can make it difficult to see clearly and create eye strain. The anti-reflective coating offers eyeglass wearers less reflection and allows people to see more clearly.

What is a progressive lens? Progressive Lenses are also known as no-line bifocals. They allow you to see objects from near to far but without the obvious line on your eyeglasses.
